It was just a few years ago that Affrie Ward won his last two races ridden, that was in his homeland of Barbados. Prior to those races he won his last race on Canadian soil on October 01 of 2011 with Smile Again Theta at Northlands Park.

I spoke to the jockey after winning his race on Buff Bay who by the way had her very first career start in the third race of opening day at Woodbine racetrack and won! Ward "I was confident with the filly before the race and I was confident that she would get the job done for the team. I am very happy for the connections and it feels good to be back riding and to be in the winner's circle once again."

Ward also mentioned that there were some changes after the weekend and he is very excited to have agent Jordan Miller managing his books the rest of the way this year. It is nice to be back out there riding again and I am excited for the rest of the year.
